The highly innovative NRGkick portable charging unit is the safest charging unit on the market – and arguably the smartest. With NRGkick, it is possible to charge as quickly as possible at any standard outlet and even at public charging stations (with up to 22 kW, 1-/2-/3-phase). The groundbreaking, patented high-level safety connector system with temperature monitoring at each phase pin ensures that scorched sockets are ruled out – whether CEE32, CEE16 or domestic sockets.
Innovations such as autonomous load management, blackout protection, locally assignable charging reports via WiFi and the possibility to upgrade further functions via the app at any time (such as photovoltaic-led charging with phase transition in the near future) prove that with NRGkick you are not only technically on the cutting edge, but far beyond it!
Fastest possible charging (up to 22 kW)
With NRGkick, all electric vehicles with Type 2 interface, whether 1-, 2- or 3-phase, can be charged at the maximum possible AC charging speed (up to 22 kW). Compared to the “emergency charging cable” for household sockets, this means that charging is up to 10 times faster and you can start your next journey fully charged in the shortest possible time instead of waiting many hours.
Simple and straightforward, no installation necessary
With NRGkick, you don’t have to spend a lot of time with planning and installing: NRGkick can be used immediately at any standard socket and also at public charging stations using the optionally available Type 2 plug attachment. This means you can charge your electric car wherever there is electricity and simply have your “wallbox” with you when you need it! Of course, you can also leave NRGkick permanently connected to your power outlet – it is absolutely temperature-resistant and even rain cannot harm it.
A huge advantage of the NRGkick charging unit is that nothing more than an electrical outlet is required – so unlike wallboxes, complicated installations are unnecessary, saving a lot of time and money. The residual current protection mechanism for AC and DC fault currents, which would otherwise have to be installed separately, is also already included.
Suitable for all sockets and charging columns
NRGkick Smart Attachments are available for all standard sockets and soon also for public charging stations. So NRGkick is really all your electric vehicle needs for charging.
When connecting to standard household sockets, NRGkick of course observes the respective country-specific regulations – for example, in Switzerland, electric vehicles may only be charged at a maximum of 8A at household sockets. With NRGkick, you can be sure that all specifications are correctly adhered to.
Thanks to the Type 2 Smart Attachment, you can also charge with NRGkick at public charging stations and thus dispense the additional Mode 3 cable that would otherwise be required.
The safest charging unit on the market, on top extremely robust
NRGkick offers a wide range of safety features, some of which have never been seen before, such as the patented high-level safety connector system with hot-unplug detection and arc protection, as well as temperature monitoring for each Smart Attachment on each individual phase pin! For domestic plug attachments, we record the temperature on both pins…. Scorched sockets are a thing of the past once and for all!
But these are only two of an incredible number of safety functions, NRGkick offers with blackout protection and undervoltage protection, overvoltage protection, phase shift detection, wrong connection test, switch contact diagnosis, protective conductor test by means of loop impedance measurement, included residual current protection (AC, DC + 6 mA), mains frequency diagnosis, automatic self-test and many, many more other functions!

Patented high-level safety connector system
The NRGkick’s patented high-level safety connector system incorporates unique features that are far ahead of the market. It consists of the Connector Unit and Smart Attachments, which are available for all standard sockets as well as for public charging stations. So NRGkick is indeed everything an electric vehicle driver ever needs to charge his vehicle anywhere there is electricity!
However, the system scores with many more features. For example, it enables temperature measurement – and this for each individual Smart Attachment and here even at each individual phase pin. In the case of domestic Smart Attachments, the temperature is recorded on both pins. Scorched sockets are therefore impossible with NRGkick!
Another unique feature is the fully automatic hot-unplug detection of the system. This ensures that when disconnecting the charging unit from the power supply, no dangerous arcs can occur for you and your socket.
An additional LED display on the Connector Unit, haptic optimisation through the use of soft components, the avoidance of any “cable tangle” and many other functions make the safety plug system an outstanding innovation!
Thermo-protect temperature management
If a socket becomes too hot, this is detected thanks to the temperature monitoring of the Smart Attachments at each phase pin. Thus NRGkick is able to regulate the charging current completely independently by means of the included temperature management and to guarantee a safe operation without danger. For household sockets, both pins are temperature monitored, so there is always absolute safety for charging unit AND socket – no matter at which connection!
Autonomous load management and blackout protection
An absolutely unique feature: NRGkick brings autonomous load management and protects against blackouts! This means: If NRGkick detects that the voltage drops too much due to a high load in the grid, the charging current is automatically regulated so that the power grid can “recover” or stabilise.
Unlike other load management systems, no complex configuration is required here – the NRGkick’s autonomous load management functions fully automatically and without any user intervention. In addition to this unique function, other load management options will also be available for NRGkick in the future.
Bluetooth and WiFi, optionally GSM/GPS/SIM
Thanks to the large number of interfaces, it is ensured that NRGkick can always be accessed anywhere. Every NRGkick has a Bluetooth and WiFi interface (optional GSM/GPS/SIM) as well as access to the NRGkick Cloud and the Web API. So via the free NRGkick app for iOS and Android you can access the charging unit at any time and use all advanced features.
The NRGkick variant with GSM/GPS/SIM ensures that you really have access to your NRGkick from anywhere. Not only EDGE and GPRS are used, but also 4G M1 and 4G NB-IoT – these connection Types have been specially developed for “Internet of Things” applications and are designed to provide access to your NRGkick even in difficult communication situations (e.g. underground garages)! For example, when charging costs are only reimbursed to third parties if they have taken place at certain locations, you can be sure that the charges are securely recorded and transmitted thanks to GSM/GPS/SIM.

Charging networks – Ready for charging (OCPP)
NRGkick has the optional ability to communicate via the OCPP standard and thus join charging networks. This provides the ability to transmit the amount of energy charged and other data via OCPP to an operator of such a charging network.

The grid-serving control of charging units is becoming increasingly important – NRGkick is already prepared for this. Thanks to the versatile communication options (Bluetooth, WiFi, GSM/SIM, Cloud) and standards (OCPP), NRGkick is absolutely future-proof.
Locally assignable charging reports via WiFi & charge reports with GPS coordinates (for GSM/GPS/SIM variant)
In the NRGkick app, it is also possible to specify the location of the WiFi networks that have been set up – for example, “At home” or “At work”. This information is later also visible in the charging reports, making it possible to make accurate statements about the amount of energy charged at a specific location!
NRGkick comes with connectivity via Bluetooth and WiFi as standard. However, it is also available with additional communication options – GSM/GPS and integrated SIM! This, in effect, allows the charging unit to be accessed from anywhere without you having to be nearby and regardless of any WiFi networks that may not be available.
Through GPS, NRGkick also has the ability to display charges in charge reports with the associated geolocation data! This allows you to see exactly where and how much was charged – which can be very helpful if you only want to track charges from certain locations (e.g. for billing purposes).

Easy setup in a few minutes
Thanks to the free NRGkick app for iOS and Android, setting up PV-led charging is very easy. The configuration of the function is done directly in the app and takes only a few minutes.
Perfect charging strategies for optimal use of your solar power!
Choose between surplus charging or charging with 100% sun and configure your selected strategy individually. For example, if there is too little PV output, you can charge with grid support or pause. Home batteries, smart loads and other consumers can be taken into account and prioritised.
Accurate 0.1 amp control prevents unwanted grid draw and feed-in
Many PV controllers and charging solutions are too imprecise, as they can only set the charging current in 1-ampere steps – this leads to unwanted mains draw or feed-in. NRGkick solves this problem: it is able to adjust the charging current in 0.1 ampere steps and thus ensures the best possible utilisation of the generated PV power.
Automatic phase switching & manual selection of the number of phases
With a low PV yield, one is faced with a problem: With a three-phase power supply and the minimum charging current of e-cars of six amps, at least 4.1 kW of available PV power is required for surplus charging.
The solution is provided by the NRGkick’s automatic phase switching, which enables 1-, 2- and 3-phase charging. If, for example, there is too little PV power available for 3-phase charging, it simply continues charging 2-phase or 1-phase, fully automatically! In addition, you can even manually define in the app how many phases NRGkick should charge with.
